NOTE: I've been notified that a breeder in NC has sold a puppy with Liver Shunt and she has not offered any compensation to the owner for any part of the surgery needed to correct this condition. The info on this breeder is as follows:
1125 Wimberley Rd
Apex, NC 27502
Make an informed decision!
Here's another NC Breeder I DON'T Recommend:
Ken and April
EAST BEND, NC
tinypuppiesforyou Can you imagine they sold a pregnant female without telling the customer she was preg. They've spent a small fortune for a "C" section and NO MILK so now they have to tube feed 4 mixed breed pups!!!!!
The breeders contained on this page have been compiled from several sources. Some of them are known to me personally but most aren't. If you're planning on adopting a Yorkie, select your breeder very carefully. Be sure to ask for references and then call those references and ask questions about their experience with the breeder. Visit the breeder's facility and look around. Observe how the facility is maintained and how the pups are being treated. This process isn't to be taken lightly. Your new pup, hopefully, will be with you for a long time and their welfare should be your main concern. If your instincts tell you not to buy from a breeder then trust that instinct and move on.
Opinions expressed either in a positive or negative manner on any breeder are mine alone. They have been formed based on factors that I believe to be true and correct. Like anything else your good judgment should be used when dealing with any breeder. Be careful when any breeder represents "TINY or TEACUP" Yorkies. This is incorrect terminology for the breed and is usually done to get a higher price and attract those that just have to have a smaller than normal dog.

It's been reported to me that Judith Bolduc of Jetaime Yorkshire Kennels at 32 Garcelon St., Lewiston ME 04240 sold a confirmed Liver Shunt dog and has refused to compensate the owner.
Here's some of what she said to me when I emailed her.
"Sarah will not get a refund final."
"As a breeder we do not breed for unhealthy pups. But during devlopement nature sometimes takes the wrong course."
"I will offer no refund on the puppy as my contract states. "
Before you would even think of buying from this breeder, ask yourself,
DO I REALLY WANT TO BUY FROM A BREEDER THAT SELLS A SEVERELY SICK DOG AND THEN WON'T STAND BEHIND THE HEALTH OF THE PUPPY!
I WOULDN'T BUY FROM HER IF SHE WERE THE ONLY YORKIE BREEDER IN THE WORLD.
A word to the wise..........
These are the tests that were done on this puppy to confirm a Liver Shunt.
He has had a regular blood test, leading the Vet to want to take blood from the liver, which led them to think he has a Liver Shunt. They then did a Bile Acid test and that pointed to a Liver Shunt. Then he had ultra sound and it confirmed a Liver Shunt. He has had 3 seizures, hypoglycemic attacks, he's a picky eater, he's throwing up, and he's losing weight.
The AKC Reg. Numbers are there to see by anyone interested.
